On Monday, January 6th I listed my house for sale and by Friday, January 10th it was sold. That was quicker than I expected, but after an afternoon of back and forth offers the final price was too close to my "hoped for price" to let it get away.
My realtor had told me that it might take as long as 8 to 12 months to sell it, so I feel as though I made the right decision. Fortunately, we can stay until April 11th. So I have plenty of time to finish packing and move. This future owner now has 15 days to have the home inspected for any problems, and they could still back out if some were discovered, but I don't anticipate that happening.
The plans for my new home should be finished within the next 2 weeks and then we can apply for a permit and get started. This week I need to make some final decisions on things that I've been undecided on, such as the windows, front door, stone color, bookcase style and overall look of the front of the home. I don't want to hold up the process when we get started.
