The tree in the middle of the building lot has been removed, so the property is ready to be scraped for large roots and then some dirt will be brought in to even it all out and construct a little higher building pad.
Meanwhile, I listed my current house for sale and it sold within 4 days. I wasn't expecting that to happen so quickly but better sooner than later. I will be able to stay there until April 30th.
We were all ready to request a building permit from the city when I realized we had exceeded the setbacks required by the city, so back to the architect to eliminate 6.5 feet off the depth of the house.
We were able to do it easily by changing the entrance of the garage to the front of the house instead of a side entry. By doing that I didn't have to eliminate any square footage from the house itself.
I guess nothing is without its challenges. The plans should be ready by Monday for my approval and then we will have to wait a few days for an engineer to certify them.
