Hot Dog Roast at Fort Thomas

There's a nice little fire pit located right in front of our log cabin, so we decided to invite Greg over for dinner since Patti is out of town for the weekend (she's off to the Nascar race in Virginia). Why let a perfectly good fire pit go to waste.

Greg showed up and so did some uninvited guests . . . the 3 Amigos - Tampa, Donkey & Gator.

We cooked hotdogs over the coals . . .

and enjoyed them with some chips, coleslaw and baked beans. The hotdogs were extra good with that charcoal smoky flavor.

We then roasted marshmallows and made somemores...

or some of us just ate the ooey-gooey marshmallows all by themselves. Either way they were delicious!

Afterwards, we sat on the porch chatting and enjoying the cool spring breeze until sundown when Greg took poor sad Lucy (she's missing her mom) home with him. When they left, Greg said we should do it again next Friday!

Life in the country is very quiet and relaxing!!!!
